My Dream Job at the Zoo

Dr. Kirk Suedmeyer, DVM, Veterinarian. Kansas City Zoo
Dr. Kirk Suedmeyer has been the Director of Animal Health at the Kansas City Zoo since 1992. After graduating from Mizzou in 1987, he briefly worked as a staff veterinarian at the Potawatomi Zoo in South Bend Indiana from 1989-1992. He is board-certified in the American College of Zoological Medicine as well as a being a former president for the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians and the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians. He also has experience as a field veterinarian for the Brown Hyena Project in Namibia. He has written numerous journal articles, conference proceedings, and book chapters. In his free time, Dr. Suedmeyer is a master falconer, a wildlife artist and enjoys going fishing.
 

 My Career Journey in Engineering
Drew Motl, Mechanical Engineer (Engines), John Deere
Drew grew up in the Milwaukee area with multiple engineers in the family, several of which worked on agricultural equipment, construction equipment, and engines. Drew started working at John Deere directly out of college and has been working there for 6 years in various roles on Heavy-Duty Diesel Engine Development. His current position is developing engine calibration to meet emissions regulations and customer needs.
 

What I Learned in My First Year in Business

Raja Chari was selected by NASA to join the 2017 Astronaut Candidate Class. He reported for duty in August 2017, completed the initial astronaut candidate training and is now eligible for a mission assignment. The Waterloo (IA) Columbus Catholic alumni graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1999 with bachelor's degrees in Astronautical Engineering and Engineering Science. He continued on to earn a master's degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated from the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School.
